Most Memorable Sports Game Seen?

What is the most memorable professional or college sports game that you have ever been to?

Mine has to be a Mets-Phillies game in Philadelphia I saw a few years ago. The Mets did lose, but Mike Piazza, my favorite player, hit a home run in the game. I beleive it was Piazza's last year with the Mets.

Another good one I saw was a Rutgers-South Florida College Basketball game I saw at the RAC. With about 20 seconds to go, RU was down 2 with the last possesion. It was a shame that they almost, but didn't quite, hit the game winning three. Still a competitive and exciting game, though.

So I repeat-what is the most memorable professional or college sports game that you have ever been to?

Most Memorable Sports Game Seen?

Funny that in both of my most memorable games, my favorite teams lost.

Mets lost like 8-4 and Rutgers lost like 52-54.

Most Memorable Sports Game Seen?

I went to the Capitals-Bruins game at the Verizon Center this past March.  It was ridiculous.  The Caps won 10-2 and it was really cool just seeing a massacre for the home team.

The Caps had scored within 40 seconds of the first period, had scored twice in 4 minutes, 3 times in 6, and ended up scoring 6 goals in the first period.  To top it off, Ovechkin got a hat trick in the first period alone and the second goal he scored was his 50th of the season.  At the end of the first the Caps had more goals then the Bruins did shots.

The rest of the game was fairly uneventful, just the Caps cushoning and Ovechkin amassing 5 total points their lead.  Hell, even our enforcer Donald Brashear scored.  Bruins goalie Tim Thomas got pulled after his fourth goal in the first, then put back in in the second, only to get pulled again in the third after I believe his eigth let in of the night.  Chants for "We Want Tim" rang throughout the Verizon Center which had a surprising 18,000 fans for a Monday night.

Other than that I'm hard pressed to think of that many memorable sporting events I've gone to.  Just a lot of Orioles games and a bunch of bad Nats games at old RFK Stadium.

Most Memorable Sports Game Seen?

Giants vs Patriots, Super Bowl XXII

The first time I can remember seeing the Giants go all the way and win a Super Bowl, not to mention in one of the biggest upsets in NFL history. Double digit underdog, winning on their last possession after giving up the lead with less than three minutes left. Not even just the Super Bowl itself but the unbelievable run they took to get there. Awesome season overall.

Most Memorable Sports Game Seen?

I wasn't around for the miracle Mets so watching this Cinderella Giants team take down that supposedly invincible Patriots gang was just amazing. Probably never get to see another Super Bowl with this kind of magnitude again, an 18-0 undefeated squad vs. a 10-6 regular season team that pounded through the playoffs
